Chelsea Wright - Director
From the day they are born your child is learning and growing, from motor skills to math and reading. As a parent, you want your children to have every opportunity and to be prepared for what’s next in life.

At Newport Learning Center, we believe that early education is for every child and we meet them at the stage they’re in. Your child will be encouraged to learn and grow in our loving and faith-centered environment. Through age-appropriate Pre-School, after-school, and summertime programs, we give children quality education and provide parents with peace of mind until their kids reach middle school.

Mission Statement

To give each child the tools they’ll need to succeed as they grow.

4 Star Program

Newport Learning Center is a 4 Star licensed early childhood program by the PA Department of Human Services. Our teachers are qualified with all the necessary teaching experience and/or degrees. All staff have background checks which includes a Criminal Record Check, a Child Abuse Clearance, an FBI Clearance. They also have two written references, a current health assessment and have been trained in Pediatric First Aid and CPR. Newport Learning Center is voluntarily enrolled in Pennsylvania's early childhood quality improvement program called the Keystone STARS. To learn more about this program visit www.pakeys.org and choose the Quick Link “Keystone STARS.” Involving families in our program is a top priority. This helps build a partnership and helps children make the connection between home and the Center. Newport Learning Center serves as an extension of your family and sharing ideas and genuine love for children is of the utmost importance. We encourage parents to visit and participate in school activities, and our open door policy allows parents to come and visit as often as they choose to, as long as your child is enrolled in the program.

Our Vision

Our vision is that each child in Newport is provided with an education that meets them where they are and prepares them for the future.

Educational Approach

Newport Learning Center uses Funnydaffer from Birth through school-age children. This curriculum was developed for teachers by teachers so they know what it takes to keep a child engaged and learning.
Each week covers activities in all areas of development.  We use game-based assessments for our students that benefit teachers, students, and families.
As parents some benefits you may enjoy are
- Access to the family portal
- Monitor your child’s progress
-Access customized daily activities on your smartphone or computer
- Receive personalized learning recommendations
- Enjoy daily read alouds

Our Staff

Two or more Christian adults from Newport Assembly and other area churches teach each class. They undergo yearly training in child development and health and safety and view their job as a ministry as well as employment. There are substitutes that meet the same standards when it is necessary for regular staff to be absent.
