At this age, a child is developing a wide range of skills at an astonishing rate. Levels of independent mobility will typically progress from “Waddle” walking to running. Additional fine and gross motor skills developed during this stage include balancing on one foot, kicking a ball, building a block tower and walking up stairs. Our facility, equipment, toys and even the teachers are adjusted to be age-appropriate and challenging but always fun, inspiring and in an atmosphere of constant accomplishment. Our instructors shower the children with affection, as they guide our Waddlers in early social skills and introduce Bible stories.
$220.00 / week or $42.00 / day

The Waddler classroom will provide many opportunities for your child’s development. This classroom will be very busy and full of energy. The Waddler’s are just beginning to desire independence and yet at any moment may change their minds and want to cuddle and be little again. We truly enjoy our work and we are looking forward to getting to know you and watching your child grow.

- Diapers
- Wipes
- Milk and water cup (water is for when we go outside)
- Extra clothing: at least two changes of clothes and an extra pair of shoes
- Small snuggly for naptime (optional)
Blankets go home on Fridays to be cleaned and will need to be returned on Monday morning. If blankets are not taken home, they will not be used the following week. Please check your child’s basket daily at pick-up time for soiled clothing and replenish as needed (please switch out clothing according to season). In winter, please also bring a winter coat, snow pants, hat, boots and two pairs of gloves/mittens.
Communication
Good communication is very important and we will do our best to keep you informed about your child’s day. A daily sheet will keep you updated about your child’s daily activities, appetite, diapering and it will let you know when your child’s supplies is running low.
Please let us know your child’s status upon arrival. How well did they sleep last night? Are they eating well? What is their mood? These things are important to us and help us to ensure your child gains as much as possible from our program.
Progress reports will be sent home twice a year and a portfolio will be given to you at the end of the school year.

The Waddler room is full of fun areas from our indoor climber to our reading area and our dramatic play area. We love to get messy when we express ourselves with art and sensory materials. Our daily routine is posted outside the classroom door. We enjoy the outside playground on most days (weather permitting). It feels great to run and climb.
We have a designated place for family photos. Please bring in a few photos for your child to view during the day. The photos are a great prop for Waddlers and teachers to use as they begin language development. It will also cheer them up when they are missing you.

Diaper changes are scheduled every two (2) hours throughout the day. Of course if we start to smell something or we simply notice a soggy diaper we will change them immediately. Potty training begins when your child is in the Toddler room.

A daily routine will be introduced as the children are eased into a single nap time and learn to sleep on sleep cots. They will begin developing their independent skills such as:
- Introducing silverware, eventually learning to replace fingers with utensils
- Practicing table manners
- Learning how to pick up toys and put them back in the bin
- Transitioning away from a pacifier (if still used) into a self soothe method
- Learn how to self soothe to sleep without any form of stimulation. (Ex. Pacifier, back rubbing, etc.)
