The Process
Team Newport Application Process
  1.  Fill out the Team Application & submit.
  2. A pastor will contact you to have an informal meeting to discuss your gifts, ministry opportunities and the clearance process.
  3. You will be connected with the Team Leader where you can “test drive” the ministry to see if it is a good fit for your gifts to be utilized and to grow. The “test drive” is a trial period or shadowing opportunity that allows you to see if the ministry is a good fit for you and your family.
  4. Once the test drive is complete and clearances are received you are good to go.  Your team leader will have frequent check ins with you.  Commitments are evaluated annually.
  5. Welcome to Team Newport!  It is a pleasure to seek and serve The Lord with you!

Clearances
All of our Teammates complete 3 background checks.
  • FBI Fingerprint Clearance
  • PA State Police Clearance
  • PA State Child Abuse Clearance.
In addition to the above clearances,  all employees and our teammates that work specifically in our Family Life Ministry, also complete a 3 hour Mandated Reporter Training to help detect and report suspected abuse.
We renew clearances every 5 years.

Join the Campus Care Team

The Campus Care Team is a part of Team Newport and is a group of people who have servant hearts and will provide physical care for the inside and outside of the campus at Shortcut Road as their schedules allow and ministry opportunities become available throughout the year.
To join the Campus Care Team complete all the Team Newport requirements and contact the church office at 717-567-3333, or Pastor Wanda wanda@newportassembly.org.
