
How to become a member of Newport Assembly of God
To start the process of becoming a member of Newport Assembly, we ask everyone to review all the information on this page. It's important for you to know everything about us and what we believe to make sure we are the right fit for you and your family. So take sometime and read over all the information below. When you feel comfortable that we are the perfect fit for you, and you feel aligned with our beliefs and requirements and standards of membership, you can complete the application form below. When your application is received it will be reviewed and we will contact you to set up an appointment with one of Pastors. We are so excited that you are interested in becoming a member of our church community. God has done amazing things in and through this ministry and we are excited to see how He will use you for His Kingdom.
Membership Eligibility
1. At least 12 years of age to become a member, 16 years and over to vote.
2. Regular attendance, and support of this assembly for a period of at least 6 months prior to the date of application for membership
3. Be living a consistent Christian life and agree to the bylaws of this assembly
4. Meet the scriptural standards for membership as set forth by the bylaws.

- *No applicant for membership will be accepted as a member within 30 days before an annual business meeting or within 10 days of a special business meeting.*
Standards of Membership
• Evidence of a genuine experience in regeneration (the new birth)
(John 1:12, 13; John 3:3-8; 1 Peter 1:18-25)
• Evidence of a consistent Christian life.
(Romans 6:4, 8:1-4, 13:13-14; Ephesians 4:17-32, 5:1, 2, 15; 1 John 1:6-7)
• To subscribe to the basic tenets of faith as set forth in the Church Constitution.
(16 Fundamental Truths)
• Readiness to abide by the constitutional rules of order adopted by the Assembly.
• Willingness to contribute regularly to the support of the Assembly with tithes (10% of one’s income) and offerings.
(Genesis 14:20; Malachi 3:10; Luke 6:38; 1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
• Willingness to meet with a pastor of the church to discuss membership.
• Regularly attended services and supported this Assembly, for a period of 6 months prior to the date of application for membership.
• Your membership may be transferred from a similar Assembly of like faith.
